One of Europe's finest hiking trails. The path owes its name to the many painters who came to the region in search of inspiration, drawn by its light and the area's unique rock formations. The route crosses spectacular landscapes of time-sculpted sandstone cliffs and deep forests, offering magnificent panoramas over the Elbe valley.
